Changes are coming to QuickBooks Online Payroll effective March 8, 2021.

QBO Online Payroll subscribers will be stepped-up and realize enhanced and frequently requested new capabilities aimed at making payroll runs more reliable, easier and quicker than before.  And three payroll offerings will be available instead of two. The QBO Payroll offerings are:

  1. QB Online Payroll CORE – Now called QB Online Enhanced Payroll (the self-service offering)
  2. QB Online Payroll PREMIUM – Now called QB Online Full Service Payroll
  3. QB Online Payroll ELITE – The new offering

1  New Name: “QuickBooks Online Payroll Core” (pre-March 2021 was “QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll (self-service.”)

  • Includes Full-service payroll, including automated taxes calcs, payments and forms.
  • Auto Payroll for salaried and hourly employees with default hours, when using direct deposit.
  • Access to health insurance through payroll
  • Access to Workers Compensation through payroll.
  • Access to 401(k) plans through payroll.
  • Pricing: $45/month + $4/month/employee or contractor either paid direct deposit; discounts for more than ten employees.  Also add $12 extra per state if more than 1 state and $5 admin fee if workers comp is selected.

2  New Name: “QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium” (pre-March 2021 was “QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll (self-service) and TSheets Premium

3  New name: “QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium” (not self-service); (pre-March 2021 was “QuickBooks Online Full-Service Payroll” and TSheets Premium

  • Subscribers receive all features of QB Online Payroll Core, and
  • TSheets Premium time tracking
  • In addition to payroll, Human Resources support is now available through new Intuit partner Mammoth HR.
  • And an “Expert Setup Review” to make sure that everything is set up correctly for upcoming payroll.
  • Pricing: $75/month + $8/month/employee or contractor either paid direct deposit; discounts for more than ten employees. Also add $12 extra per state if more than 1 state and $5 admin fee if workers comp is selected.

4  New name: “QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite” (pre-March 2021 was “QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll” (self-service) and TSheets Elite

5  New name: “QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite” (not self-service); (pre-March 2021 was “QuickBooks Online Full-Service Payroll” and TSheets Elite

  • Subscribers receive all features of QB Online Payroll Premium, and
  • TSheets Elite time tracking (with job costing, time sheet signatures, geofencing (are employee where they say they are?) and more.
  • Assurance against tax-agency penalties
  • Product supported 7 x 24.
  • Pricing: $125/month + $10/month/employee or contractor, either paid direct deposit; discounts for more than ten employees.  Also add $12 extra per state if more than 1 state and $5 admin fee if workers comp is selected.

All QuickBooks Online Payroll Offerings Include:

All offerings include year-end filings, availability in 50 states, employee garnishments and special deductions (including student loans, child support, medical bills, and others), common and detailed payroll reports, access to medical insurance, federal and state (and local with Elite) automatic / timely tax payments  and filings.

Clients will be transitioned automatically on March 8 2021 – there is nothing at all to do!
